Online Instructor-Led Training Logistics

The following information is provided for PivotPoint clients that are participating in Online Instructor-Led Training using PivotPoint webconference training facilities.

Contact us to discuss details.

Training Time Schedule

  • Standard Start/End Times
08:30 - 16:30 Local Time when the Students are all in the same time zone, with a 1-hour meal break and two short AM and PM refreshment breaks.

For Online Training sessions where the Students are in different time zones, please coordinate with your Instructor to find the best Start/End Times.
  • Changing Start/End Times
If you want to change the Start/End Times for your training you need to coordinate this with your Instructor in advance of your training. When you request a change in your training times the total training time allocated per day (approximately 7 hours) should remain the same to ensure that your Instructor and students can efficiently cover all the training content allocated for that day. For example, if you want to end your training a half-hour earlier at 16:00, you should be prepared to either start a half-hour earlier at 08:00, or take a 30 minute lunch break instead of an hour lunch break.

Computer & Software Requirements

  • Student Computers for Webconference Access: Browser Requirements

    • Students should have access to a PC or Mac computer that fulfills the following requirements:

    For PC-based participants:

    • Internet Explorer® 7.0, Mozilla® Firefox® 3.0, Google™ Chrome™ 5.0 (JavaScript™ and Java™ enabled) or the latest version of each web browser
    • Windows® 7, Vista, XP
    • Dual-core 2.4GHz CPU or faster with 4GB of RAM or greater
    • Cable modem, DSL, or better Internet connection

    For Mac-based participants:

    • Safari™ 3.0, Firefox® 3.0, Google™ Chrome™ 5.0 (JavaScript™ and Java™ enabled) or the latest version of each web browser
    • Mac OS® X 10.5 – Leopard® or newer
    • Intel processor (4GB of RAM or better recommended)
    • Cable modem, DSL, or better Internet connection

  • Student Computers for Practice Exercises [Optional; required for Integrated Tool Training]
    • Modeling Tool Requirements: For information regarding modeling tool version numbers, downloading, and installing free trial licenses check out the Integrated Tool Training page.

    For both PC-based & Mac-based participants

    • Pointing devices: A dedicated precision pointing device (typically a computer Mouse; track pads or touch pads are insufficiently precise) is required for practice work sessions.
    • Computer displays: In general, the larger the computer display the better. For Virtual Training without Integrated Tool Training a laptop display may suffice. For Virtual Training that includes Integrated Tool Training, the student must be able to observe the Instructor in one window while drawing in another. Consequently, a large display (typically 17" or larger) or dual monitors are strongly recommended.
